Chai is the word for tea in many parts of the world and plays a very important role in many cultures. The most famous is Indian Chai, a milk tea with spices that vary according to the region and household, that has grown in popularity in the West.
To make the perfect Chai TeaLatté: Bring 1¼ cup water with 2 heaping tsp of chai tea to a boil. Add 1 cup of whole milk, bring the combination back to a gentle boil, then turn down the temperature and let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn heat off, let cool for a minute, then strain and add sweetener of choice. Enjoy!
