Welcome to January's JSNA Bulletin

Welcome to the first JSNA Bulletin of the year - and in a new format - hope you like the revamped layout with all the usual local content, updates and news with other information from a range of sources.

We have the latest Suicide Audit report using data up to end of 2015 with the report for 2016 data available later in the year. The latest JSNA support packs for Alcohol, Drugs and Young People's Substance Misuse are now available plus other local content you might find useful.

Local JSNA Updates

Wirral Suicide Audit (2015 data)

This latest audit report considers cases if they were examined by the Liverpool Coroner (Wirral falls under the jurisdiction of the Liverpool Coroner) during the calendar year of 2015. Read more

Local JSNA Support Packs

The support packs are updated annually are to help local areas to develop JSNAs and local joint health and wellbeing strategies, which effectively address public health issues relating to alcohol, drugs and young people's substance misuse. Available are:  

Wirral health outcomes at a glance

The Public Health Outcomes Framework sets out a vision for public health, desired outcomes and the indicators that will help us understand how well public health is being improved and protected. Wirral's at a glance ongoing performance was last updated in November 2016. Read more

Fundamental Facts about mental health 2016

A comprehensive summary of mental health research, providing a unique handbook of key facts and figures, covering all key areas of mental health. This year's Fundamental Facts follows the recent publication of the 2014 Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey. This highlights that, every week, 1 in 6 adults experiences a common mental health problem, such as anxiety or depression and 1 in 5 adults has considered taking their own life at some point. Read more

Free accredited training opportunity for an Introduction to Affordable Warmth

Local fuel poverty charity, Energy Projects Plus, is offering their one-day course, “Introduction to Affordable Warmth”, to anybody interested in learning a little more about how to reduce energy bills at home and identify people who might be at risk of fuel poverty.
