Dear <<First Name>>,
(Note: I'm trying out a stripped down version of my newsletter this month.)
Strange times we're in.
Less than 24 hours ago I awoke in San Francisco, greeted by the morning sun and the curiosity of the rare local parrots. The haze over the city was tinged with blue, a reminder of the massive forest fires that swept through the North Bay.
Only a few short weeks ago the news was awash with massive floods and hurricanes. From Houston to Puerto Rico, the climate is destabilizing - though at the same time, so are the stories that have upheld the suicidal flaw in the dominant regime.
I'm now at the Awakened Women Convergence near Phoenix. This morning was opened by representatives from the local indigenous tribe, joined with voices of those weaving the wider collective uprising. It's not lost on me that some of the most powerful voices are women.
What is the role of men in support of this shift?
It's a question I have pondered deeply, and drew me to spend the last 5 years of my life making the film Amplify Her. It's now ready to be shared with the world.
But I need your help.
It's been a challenging road. Over the last 40 days we've raised 63% of our modest goal of $20,000. We have 10 hours left to raise the remaining funds to print the graphic novel and launch the tour.
Today, I had an epiphany to address an appeal directly to my fellow men.
I would love if you read it and passed it along to any other men (and women) you think would appreciate it.
Thank you for your ongoing curiosity in my work, which is really a thousand ways to show you what I love.
p.s. We have a number of dates coming for the film, including Victoria, Seattle, San Francisco, and Salt Spring Island.
