Forward Forward
You may notice a slight change in the presentation of this email.
I would like to think I am simplifying the whole thing.
I'm even posting my opinions on Google Blogger. I try to post every day. Something, Anything.
Seth Godin says I should just write something. Every day. Keep practicing.
So, I shall keep trying and maybe, just maybe, I'll get a little better.
I welcome any comments, criticisms, or compliments. Especially the latter.

And this is the only "marketing" you will get from me, I promise.
I want to earn a living, not build an empire. Just enough to have a reasonable life.
I have everything I need. My Retirement Annuities pay some of the necessities, like our medical aid.
And this little business helps with the "luxuries" like food, electricity, water, etc.
At least we have them, unlike so many other people.
One day at a time. No time to plan for tomorrow. It'll look after itself. When it gets here.
Every day above ground is a good day. I'm very grateful for all I have.

And, while we talk about a reasonable life, I to ask everyone who can, to vote in the elections.
This time, it's not about who we support politically. It's about our community. Us.
If everybody decides not to vote, for whatever reason, nothing will change.
I live in a very nice area, where everything works reasonably well.
Pick-it-up collects our garbage every Monday. Our potholes are fixed regularly.
The municipality clears our blocked drains whenever we report them.
So, I'm reasonably happy. And very lucky.
But I will vote in the upcoming elections.
If I wasn't happy, I'd vote for someone who I believe MAY do a better job.
I've never met my local guy, but I'm happy with the service, so I don't need to know him.
Find out who your local guy/gal is. Does he/she do a good job? Vote for him/her.
You can even talk to them. It may (or may not) help, but the least we can do is try.
If you get no response, or a bad one, vote for someone else. Simple.
If their work isn't better in five years' time, we get to vote for someone else again.
Sometimes, new brooms do sweep clean. The old ones are just broken.
Give it a chance. Every 5 years. Until we get it right. Remember, we get the government we deserve. And the one WE vote for. If they don't do the job, vote them out. Simple as that.
And on that note, here's a list of 10 things the DA are already doing in municipalities. Like mine.
"Voting DA is your best guarantee of an uninterrupted supply of electricity at the lowest cost possible. DA-run municipalities are taking 10 steps to ensure a reliable, cheapest-possible supply of electricity to residents and businesses."
So says John Steenhuisen. Read the list here. It's quite comprehensive.
I think they deserve a chance to see what they can do in the rest of the country.
Nobody's perfect. But maybe, just maybe, they could do a better job.
Or maybe you know somebody who could do a better job. Vote for them.

"I am happy because I want nothing from anyone. I do not care about money.
Decorations, titles, or distinctions mean nothing to me. I do not crave praise. I claim credit for nothing.
A happy man is too satisfied with the present to dwell too much on the future."
Albert Einstein. He knew a thing or two!

And this is the sort of response that inspires me to keep going. Thank you, Peter.

Okay, that's just my opinion, as a South AfriCAN!
Let's get down to some marketing. I need to "earn" my "pension"!
The Government thinks I earn too much to deserve an old-age pension.
And that's not a joke. I think they're serious. Even though it's my money paid in taxes over the years.
And Julius thinks I'm rich, so he wants his cut too.
Now I have to beg them to give some back? I don't think so.
Hopefully, they'll use my money for someone more deserving.
For my customers (Past, Present & Future), a reminder. In case you need something.
At least I still CAN earn my living. Supplementing my small pension. Before I get too old!
With a little help from a few friends. Customers, Suppliers, Friends, Family.
Small family businesses, mostly. Or maybe you're a hobbyist? As long as you grow something.
Thank you for your continued support. I appreciate that.

Google is my friend who knows everything.

As Seth (again) says: "People like us do things like this". I'm just a "people".
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. How can we help each other?
