Congratulations HEN Hospitals!

The following is a message from Dr. Tom Evans, President and CEO of the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative:

As participating members of the IHC Partnership for Patients (PfP) Hospital Engagement Network (HEN), I would like to thank you for your dedication and involvement.  Your impressive efforts have helped to reduce patient harm and improve safety across the board in hospitals throughout Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska.

When the campaign began in 2012 you committed yourself to the Partnership for Patients aims to decrease preventable hospital-acquired conditions and readmissions. You aligned your organizations with charters, committed to work plans, and began a journey using monthly data that has generated dramatic improvements in harm reduction.  For the Iowa HEN, our ADE outcomes improved 99.9%, Early Elective Deliveries improved 95%, and our Pressure Ulcer results improved 85% over our already high performance.  In fact, in almost every focus area of the campaign you significantly reduced harm to our patients.  Congratulations! Your incredible work over the past three years has changed the way healthcare is delivered.
