IHC Annual Conference and
HEN 2.0 Learning Community

Last week IHC hosted our 12th Annual Conference, “Charting the Course”, and the first in-person HEN 2.0 Learning Community.  Over the course of two days, nearly 400 attendees experienced sessions highlighting best practices shared by national content experts and local success stories across a multitude of engaging topics.
Attendees at the Annual Conference were roused by keynote speaker, Todd Henry, founder of Accidental Creative, who challenged us to be “brave” as we seek brilliance in the work we do every day. Attendees at the Learning Community had the opportunity to engage in tabletop discussions, sharing ideas to continue to drive improvement through HEN 2.0..
Two lucky Annual Conference attendees received raffle prizes as part of the Passport to Prizes.  Congratulations to Sara Yesda from Hegg Memorial Health Center who took home a free registration for the 2016 Annual Conference and to Dawn Stephensen with Virginia Gay Hospital who won a CDC Road to Health Toolkit.
Thank you to all our attendees, exhibitors, and community partners who helped to make this year’s events a great success!

Iowa State Innovation Model

The State of Iowa recently applied for, and was awarded, a State Innovation Model (SIM) Cooperative agreement with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The goal of this initiative is to test whether new payment and service delivery models will produce superior results when implemented in the context of a state-sponsored State Healthcare Innovation Plan.

The state is inviting pilot proposals to address the goals of the initiative. Grants will be awarded to community collaborations throughout the state. Applications to the SIM request for proposal (RFP) are due December 23, 2015.
