Be it watching the excellent film season at the Barbican, Urban Wanderings, checking out the buildings on the architecture showcase weekend  'Open City' or celebrating the listing of Preston's famous bus station; Mid-century buildings were a hot topic last month and we were scouring our archive for 60s and 70s gems of British architectural footage. The 1970s Greenpark film 'A Heritage to Build On' represents the piece de resistance of our architectural footage, featuring brilliantly shot images of mid-century buildings, many of which are no longer part of the UK landscape.

Of course you know we have classic early horror such as Nosferatu, 50s Alien movies and plenty of Bela Lugosi. However you might not be aware of our great seventies US horror footage, with all its colourful and low-budget effects that is dug out of the vault of b-movie entrepreneur Sam Sherman and offers wonderful examples of the decade in which horror movies began to find their footing.
