Our fourth annual retreat was held on the beautiful campus of Princeton University. Over a three day weekend, we gathered all our students for an opportunity to reconnect and reflect on their past year, share their summer experiences, plan for the upcoming year - and for our Seniors - think about the next steps.
Our Saturday night reception was light and bright. Guests were invited to meet and mingle with our students at the beautiful Palmer House. There was even an impromptu poetry reading and dance performance from some students!
Our students welcomed former Princeton President Shirley Tilghman to dinner on Saturday night where she lead a very inspiring dinner discussion on leadership.
It was so wonderful to have many of our friends and host families join us for our Saturday evening reception and dinner - just look at all these smiling faces. We thank you for your time and support!
A special Thank You to Princeton University for providing a wonderful setting and outstanding attention, Dock Street Foundation/Richard Marks for their generous financial support of our retreat, Shirley Tilghman for taking time out of her schedule to lead our students in an enriching leadership discussion and our committee members - Kathleen Deignan, Graham Cole, Karen Coates and Molly Dunne for all the time and energy they put into organizing such a successful retreat.

HOLLINS UNIVERSITY - This year AGFAF was fortunate to have been granted the opportunity to send two students to Hollins. Geeta '16 (left) and Husnia '16 (right) both graduated from community college in the spring and are settling in well as Juniors at Hollins. Click here to read a little more about Geeta.
This year at our retreat, we were touched by our students' outpouring of thanks for all we do! All that we do would not happen but for all of our generous donors like you. So we would like to share the appreciation and knowledge that together we do make a difference in the lives of these students and in shaping the future of Afghanistan and the world.
