In the fall of 2015, Sajia Darwish's future was uncertain.
Expecting to begin her sophomore year at Mount Holyoke College, Sajia was informed that due to unforeseen circumstances, the individual who had committed to funding her education would be unable to continue her support. Without this financial help, Sajia would have to return home to Kabul.
AGFAF was contacted.
Through our own resources and outreach to good friends, Sajia's financial needs were met and today she is a junior at MHC.
This summer Sajia returned to Kabul.
With a bright future and her education secured, Sajia returned to Kabul with a plan to give back. Along with the financial commitment of AGFAF and the support of family and friends,
Sajia built the Baale Parwaz Library in Kabul - giving the gift of education to thousands.
Won't you help make this the story of many other Afghan women and children? Please consider making a gift to AGFAF as part of your year end giving!
