Meet the newest WordPresser, my first Grand Child, Jacob Ryan Kraus who already is blogging at just 4 days old. We have him and much to be grateful for as we head into Thanksgiving in the USA. Hope you will enjoy a festival time too, safely, in the coming week.

As always, thank you for being a WordPress Big 3 reader!
The Most Useful Google Analytics Metrics For Web Designers

I love this video.  More to the point, I loved Andy Crestodina's explanation of how to set up and use Google Analytics that goes beyond the basics from a designer's perspective.

For example, are you capturing the search terms used on your site? If someone does a search on your site and you don't track what a user is searching for then you're losing valuable insights.

If you already know a bit about Google Analytics but want to use it to get more meaningful insights this video is for you!

This is a longish recorded webinar held by Elementor but it's worth your time if you're into improving your SEO.

Convertio, An Image Conversion Service

Ever need to convert an image file from one format to another?

Sure, Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphics apps can sometimes do what you need but not always. Besides, not everyone has these apps.

Last week I needed to convert a .png file to .svg, a Scalable Vector Graphic which is a image that scales perfectly in mobile.

I ran into a real cool tool that you might want to keep around.

You can try it for free but after converting about 10 images you need to pay for the service which is very affordable.

Should Links Open In A New Window For SEO?

Opening a new browser tab after a link is clicked or tapped drives me nuts. If I had to name 10 terrible user experiences this might be number one.

Unless there is a real good reason don't let users open a new tab after they select a link.  This practice is typically used for outbound (off-site) links under the notion that a user will not come back to a site unless a new tab is opened. This breaks navigation as the back button can no longer be used.

While this short post does give a reason or two to open a page in a new tab, I don't agree.

And what about SEO ramifications?
