Virtual Workshop
Hello, friend!

We are ready for and excited to share some hands-on learning this fall.

The AIGA Orlando Women Lead Initiative team is pleased to announce our newest workshop series: Ripple. This series highlights the knowledge, talent, and skill of creative women and femme folx in Orlando. We are partnering with local artists, makers, designers, and crafters from a range of disciplines to ignite a sense of exploration and experimentation across our creative community, fostering personal growth and amplifying the power of Orlando’s creative voice.

We hope you are as excited about this new series as we are and that you will join us for our first workshop: Storytelling Characters with Vanessa Flores. Vanessa is an illustrator and writer raised on plátanos and old-school salsa. She is a proud part of the diverse art and Latinx community in Orlando, FL, as well as a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the Orlando Giant Illustrator collective. Visit her corner of the interwebs at vanessafloresart.com.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of designing and illustrating an original character from the perspective of a storyteller. Attendees will explore the full creative process, from gathering references and design to adding personality through physical details and posing.

This virtual workshop is happening on Saturday, November 14th, at 10 AM. We welcome you to take advantage of our Early Bird ticket pricing—available right now through October 31st.
