2017 CWFC Call for Presentations
Presentation proposals are now being accepted for the 2017 Colorado Wildland Fire Conference! The conference planning committee is looking for presentations that focus on:
*Innovative research influencing policy changes
*Case studies of overcoming barriers to planning and implementation
*Success stories of on the ground actions to create Fire Adapted Communities


Proposals are due Friday, November 18, 2016!

Article: High resolution mapping of development in the wildland-urban interface using object based image extraction assessed the effects of buffer distance, topographic conditions, and building characteristics on the accuracy and quality of building extraction.

Report: The JFSP-funded research project Assessing the effectiveness of spatially heterogeneous fuel reduction restoration treatments examined the influence of forest restoration treatments on vertical and horizontal fuel heterogeneity and the effect of altered forest heterogeneity on potential fire behavior.
