Ladies Crafting Opportunity
Parkway ladies are making blankets and collecting $5 McDonald's gift cards to donate to a group that passes out needed items to the homeless in downtown Atlanta.  If you are interested in creating blankets together we will meet Sunday, February 12th after church.  We are hoping to make a variety of non-sew fleece, knitted, and crocheted blankets or squares that can be assembled into blankets.  You are welcome to bring a lunch or we will get a group takeout order together at a local restaurant.  Any yarn or fleece donations at, or prior to, the meeting will be greatly appreciated.  Please feel free to come even if you don't have supplies or experience.  Level Up and Youth are encouraged to participate.  Any blankets or gift cards for donating should be turned in to Jodie Samp by
February 28th.
Personnel Committee Youth Search

The Personnel Committee has appointed five people to serve as a search committee for a new Minister of Youth. They are Megan Dover, Amy Kennedy, Marty Loden, Rob Mitchell, and Carla Wallace. Please pray for them as they begin their work.

"When Helping Hurts" Study
What if our attempts to help the poor can actually hurt them?

New "When Helping Hurts" Study to be Offered

Understanding the principles in the book "When Helping Hurts" is essential for anyone interested in engaging in missions, either locally or globally. The subtitle, "How to Alleviate Poverty without Hurting the Poor...and Yourself," points to the necessity of understanding one's proper role in the helping process. While the desire to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ is the necessary starting point, a Christian needs to understand what actions are genuinely helpful and what may do harm to the relationship.

This year's Bolivia mission team will be studying the book and watching very insightful and moving videos on alternating Wednesday evenings at 7:30. All members of the Parkway family are encouraged to attend, but especially if you are committed to supporting the team or interested in engaging in some form of missions action, either now or in the future.

The first meeting will be next Wednesday, February 8. Tentative future dates are February 22, March 8 and 22, April 12 and 26, and May 10.

For further information contact Kristy Engel.  If you need a copy of the book, you may order through Amazon
Final Chance to Sign Up for
Bolivia Mission Trip

There are only a couple of spots open for this summer's mission trip to Bolivia, working with House of Hope in Cochabamba. The dates are June 22 through July 3. Individuals are responsible for paying $1000 of the overall cost. That amount is due this Sunday, February 5. Participants must be able to do strenuous activity at high altitudes and have clearance for the trip from their doctor. If you have any questions, contact Jodie Samp.
Men’s Prayer Group
The Men’s Prayer Group meets each Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. at Magnolia Bakery and Cafe, 5175 South Old Peachtree Road in Norcross.  In addition to praying for church members, friends, and other concerns, they discuss a chapter in a book relevant for living out our Christian faith in the world.

Beginning February 8 they will be discussing Adam Hamilton's "Making Sense of the Bible:Rediscovering the Power of Scripture Today."

This study, projected to last about six months, will include an overview of both the Old and New Testaments, questions about the nature of Scripture, and making sense of the Bible's challenging passages. Any man is welcome to join the group for this study. If you have any questions, contact Jim King
Parkway Hiking Club

Do you enjoy walking outdoors? Looking for a way to connect more with others from Parkway or invite friends to meet our family? Trying to stick to that New Year’s resolution to get/stay healthy? Then here’s a great opportunity to reach your goal while learning about the wonderful trails in the Atlanta area.

Our new hiking club will choose a variety of hikes (easy to moderate) on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. We will always meet at the hiking location but you feel  free to carpool with others. Please note the times we will be meeting at the designated trail parking lots.

A link will be included for directions and parking information. The first two hikes will be:
