Greetings once again from Guatemala City!  As many of you all may have heard through social media, this nation is in a special season when not only is the church coming together in unity, but the entire nation is uniting!! For the first time, Guatemalans are coming together, in a peaceful manner, and expressing their discontent towards the corruption in the government that has ravaged this country for decades. Elections are coming up in a few weeks and we are hopeful that God is going to be gloried through the votes of the people and that Guatemalans will finally get a government that they very much deserve!  A government of integrity that values the people it is serving! Join us on September 6 in praying for His Kingdom come and His Will be done in this election as it is in Heaven!

This has definitely been an interesting year for us in The Street Revolution.  We have seen a lot of development, a lot of new ideas coming to life, and a lot of volunteers and teams joining us to help out! In September, we are excited to announce that we will host our first ever intern (a 3rd year student from Bethel) as well as receive a World Race Gap Year team that will be serving with us for the next 3 months! This is really exciting for us and we believe that God is challenging us to take a leap with Him and move towards renting a space for The Spark, our cafe / development center for street youth. We have already found a potential place that we would like to rent and within the next week, we will speak with the property manager and hopefully begin renting the space.

You might be asking "What is the Spark?" Well, this is a place that we have wanted to open for a long time where street youth will be able to freely come in on certain days of the week to attend Bible studies, to freely worship God, to do handcraft activities, to develop skills, and to simply talk about life while enjoying the opportunity to be indoors and drink a fresh cup of coffee. We also hope to use the space for our weekly Bible Clubs with the many high risk children in the area as well as offering opportunities of nutritional education for the mothers. As you can see, there is a lot happening in our ministry right now and a lot of reason for us to be excited!  We want to invite you all to join us in praying for the dreams that He has for the many youth living on the streets as well as the dreams He has for the many children living in high risk situations to end up on the streets. Together we believe that we can make a major difference in the lives of these precious young people!  Together, we can join God in encouraging and empowering this often forgotten group of people thus pushing them forward into the incredible destinies that God has set out for them! Matthew 16:19 says "I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.  Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loosen on earth will be loosed in heaven." Together, we can shine a bright light in the midst of extreme darkness!
