An Amazing Time of Teaching!
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,"
2 Timothy 3:16
Good morning from a beautiful and sunny Antigua, Guatemala! It is so hard to believe that we are already in October and in the final month of rainy season here in Guatemala. This year has really gone by fast, much faster than we anticipated it would be for us! However, God has been so faithful to us and continues to do amazing things in our lives and in our ministry!
Teaching Weeks for Both of Us!
These last few weeks have been a busy few weeks for both Juli and I as we have had the honor of teaching in the DTS schools in El Salvador and Guatemala City! Juli was invited last minute to go to the YWAM base in El Salvador to teach the students of the DTS on Biblical Relationships. As I said in our last news report, this is an incredible and challenging teaching that Juli has developed specifically for the YWAM DTS, but also for the local church in general. While in El Salvador, she was able to teach 7 students from 3 latin nations (El Salvador, Columbia, Honduras) while also ministering to their staff who represent various nations around the world.
Right after Juli came back, I also had the honor of going back to our original YWAM base in Guatemala City and teach on Spiritual Warfare with their DTS. This is also a super challenging topic to teach on, but I really enjoyed being used by the Holy Spirit to minister life and hope to the 5 students in their school. They are preparing for their outreach to Puerto Rico and many of the elements we talked about helped inspire ideas on how they can best minister to the people who have lost everything in the recent hurricane, thus casting out the darkness that many in Puerto Rico are feeling right now!
Our Upcoming DTS Outreach
We are currently entering the 10th week of our DTS here in Antigua. It has been an amazing 9 weeks so far, though it certainly has not always been easy. We recently had a student go home, which really deeply affected our students and staff. However, we are finally starting to come out of the darkness of confusion and move forward into the great promise that God has for us on our upcoming DTS outreach.
We are planning to go to 2 different places over 7 weeks in November and December. Our first location will be to return to Huehuetenango where we ministered in our last DTS outreach. Our hope is to followup and continue to build on the relationships we developed earlier this year, while also continuing in inspiring the local church to get out of the church building and shine His light for all to see! We will then go to Oaxaca, Mexico (visas pending) to assist a pair of churches in their relief efforts from the earthquakes that struck Mexico last month.
To do this, we need your help! We estimate as a family that we will need to raise close to $3000. This may seem like a lot, but we know that God is able and that every small and large donation helps push us closer to our goal! We have already raised $225, so if we could get 100 people to give $25 each, we would nearly reach our goal! So we want to invite you all and challenge you all to join us in believing for the needed finances to come in. We only have the next few weeks to get the funding in. If you would like to get involved, please get in contact with us by emailing me at david@djministries.net or sending me a WhatsApp to 52711427 (Guatemala phone.. country code 502)
