Colour in Contemporary Workplace Design by Carol-Ann Pickvance
Dear NSW Colour Society Members and friends,
Wednesday 21 October, 2015
I am pleased to announce that our October 2015 event will be a tour of the HASSELL office at Walsh Bay, followed by a presentation by HASSELL Senior Associate Carol-Ann Pickvance, who will be joining us as a new member of the CSA NSW Division. Please come along to make this an event to remember, and spread the word among the NSW design community of this exceptional opportunity to explore the challenges involved in designing for large corporations.
Also, please note that the 2016 CSA National Conference has been announced for the weekend of 10 and 11 September at the Queensland University of Technology, Gardens Point, Brisbane. There will be a welcome evening beforehand on Friday 9 September.
Colour Society NSW Event:
Colour in Contemporary Workplace Design by Carol-Ann Pickvance (HASSELL, Sydney).
Wednesday 21st October, 2015, 6.30 pm for 7.00 pm.
HASSSELL office, Pier 8/9, Walsh Bay.
Interior designer Carol-Ann Pickvance is a Senior Associate at the major architecture firm HASSELL. She has extensive international experience across a range of sectors: media, professional services, banking, telecommunications, legal, engineering, entertainment, government, retail, and high-end residential.
After a short tour of the HASSELL studio at Walsh Bay, Carol-Ann will talk about the context of workplace design and the changing role of the office. She'll explain the challenges of designing for large, often complex organizations who expect a design solution to remain relevant for a decade, and share her insights into the role of colour in this context through a series of case studies including Westpac (Sydney), SBS (Sydney), Medibank (Melbourne), ASB (Auckland), Google (London, Munich, Singapore) and BBC Worldwide (London). From reinforcing market positioning; creating intuitive orientation; encouraging particular behaviours; to stimulating creative thinking; colour is a fundamental component of workplace design.
