America's Premier Voice on Data Policy
The novel coronavirus initiated a shift among organizations to transition to remote work and altered programming nationwide, but the Data Coalition has continued advancing our policy goals and virtual programming schedule. This month, we hosted a virtual iteration of our planned SXSW open data panel, re-launched our RegTech Data Summit as RegTech Data Week, and issued a letter to Congress regarding the coronavirus pandemic. For more on these and other stories, continue reading. 
As Congress Tackles the COVID-19 Pandemic, Open Spending Data Remains Essential
Data Coalition Policy Manager Corinna Turbes penned a blog on the COVID-19 stimulus package. In it, she advises Congress to incorporate the existing frameworks of the DATA Act and GREAT Act into the stimulus packages to ensure American tax dollars are being used for the benefit of society. 

An Open Letter to Congress for Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic with Data
On Monday, March 23, Data Coalition CEO Nick Hart submitted an open letter to Members of Congress regarding COVID-19. The letter recommends the passage of high-priority federal data policies that would help address the ongoing pandemic and facilitate future innovation. 

Data Coalition Transforms Upcoming Event into a Week-Long Virtual Series, April 20-24
Given the evolving situation surrounding the novel coronavirus, the Data Coalition regretfully had to cancel the in-person RegTech Data Summit 2020 scheduled for April 22 in New York. However, the event has been rescheduled as a week-long virtual event series taking place April 20-24: RegTech Data Week. More details are available on the Data Coalition website.
