Hotel reservations
Even though you can no longer make a reservation on The Westin's Reservation Website for Arisia, you may still be able to get a room! To get on the wait list for a room at The Westin Waterfront Boston please fill out our Special Request Form and make the appropriate selections.
There are still plenty of rooms available (including doubles!) for just $150/night at The Renaissance Boston (just two blocks away from The Westin).
All hotel special requests, which include needing an accessible hotel room, a cot for your room, a fridge for medical purposes, or wanting to be placed in the family/small children rooming block must be submitted to the Special Request Form by Nov 30. Requests received after that date may not get fulfilled.
Art Show Registration is Open
Do you have art to share with the world? The Arisia art show is a non-juried, no commission show that sells tables and panels to artists who wish to participate. If that’s you, see all the details in the art show registration form. Artists interested in exhibiting their work should register by November 30, 2013. We can’t wait to see your work in our show.
This year, the Art Show will be moving to Harbor II and III on the Harbor Conference Level on the east side of the Boston Westin Waterfront Hotel, one floor up from the Lobby Level and two floors above the Galleria where it was last year.
Arisia Lightning Presentations
What's your passion? Arisia would like you to share something that inspires you in one of our Lightning Presentations. This program was inspired by TED talks and performances and the excitement they provoke. Come and listen and find out what we want to share.
Signup at the lightning talks form. We’ll decide on presenters and notify them by December 1st. PowerPoint, Open Office, or other presentations will be due on January 2nd. All presentations will be loaded onto one laptop for projection.
Calling all High School Students!
Don’t forget that we’ll have a student art contest and a student writing contest just for you! Interested students should sign up by December 15th for the Writing Contest and December 20th for the Art Contest.
Arisia Gaming
Hello from Arisia gaming 2014! To all past and potential Game Masters and Live Action Role Play coordinators, rejoice: the signups to run games are now live! Please go sign up for tabletop gaming or for LARPing.
Arisia Access
Arisia plans to hold a tactile tour of the Masquerade during Masquerade Halftime, and a Tactile tour of the Art Show. These tours are open to all attendees, but priority will be given to people with disabilities. Sign up by sending an email to access@arisia.org.
For attendees who require ASL interpreters, we will have interpreters on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm (and they will need a lunch break in there.) If you need an interpreter, please email access@arisia.org by December 31.
Enlist for Team Arisia
Arisia runs on volunteer power and there are a lot of ways you can help. Volunteers who work eight hours will get a free T shirt at the convention (only available to volunteers); twelve or more hours earn a free membership to next year's convention. We need people pre-con and post-con too! Check out our Help Wanted page for available positions, and tell us what you’d like to do to help through our Volunteer Form. You can also email volunteers@arisia.org for details on how to help out, or to tell us what kind of position you'd like.
It’s going to be a wonderful 25th Arisia! We’ll see you there.
