I hope you are doing well!  I just wanted to share with you that on Saturday, May 25th, I will begin cycling 3600mi across the USA, ~150mi per day, self supported.  I not only want to share this journey with you, I also want to bring you along for the ride.

I am undertaking this challenge to raise funds for Endure to Cure Pediatric Cancer Foundation – a national 501(c)(3) non-profit I founded which benefits children in cancer treatment through our Small Miracles & Travel for Treatment Assistance programs.

My personal goal is to raise $15,000 which will create between 30-50 Small Miracles for children fighting cancer.

Will you please join me in raising more than sweat--to bring some excitement to kids in cancer treatment simply by making a tax-deductible contribution of any size?

(Donate by May 24th for some cool promos; see details below)

Small Miracles range from basic needs like getting a family a good meal outside the hospital during long stays, to something more elaborate like sending a child and their family to a Broadway musical complete with a cast member meet and greet.  What they all have in common is that they bring hope and joy to a child and their family during a difficult time.

The cost of basic Small Miracles are generally between $25-100, while the bigger ones are generally between $500-1200.   I invite you to be somebody's hero and come ride with me...together we can make miracles happen.

THANK YOU for your consideration and support!
Jay

What It Meant to Mac & His Family: "It was harder and harder to get a genuine smile out of Mac as his months of treatment went on, but the smile on his face when he received his Small Miracle from E2C was a gift that we can never express the magnitude of to you."

The Ride, What Say You?
Well, this isn't your leisurely touring company joyride, it is a statement against cancer and human limitation.  Cancer sucks, it is painful, and therefore, so will be this ride.

Though I've never had cancer, I regularly visit kids and their parents in the hospital.  I can assure you that no pain I encounter will compare to theirs.

Along with 3 fellow riders, I will set off SELF SUPPORTED (just my trusty bike and a small backpack) from Oceanside, CA, cross the Mohave Desert dipping 187ft below sea level in extreme desert heat. We will climb to nearly 11,000ft in the Rockies, cross the great plains onward to more steep climbs in Maryland (the steepest on the route, believe it or not). From there, we will head up the east coast through Baltimore, Philly, NYC, and finish in Boston.

The Route: Behind the Numbers:

  • Total Miles: 3500-3600mi. About 1.5x Tour de France.
  • Daily Milage: 150+ (goal). Will vary depending on weather, terrain, health.
  • Riding Time / Day: ~10-15hrs. Your office chair just became more comfy, right? :)
  • Total Elevation Gain: ~180,000 feet.  That is over 34 vertical miles--more than SIX times the height of Mt. Everest.
  • Lowest Elevation: -187 feet below sea level
  • Highest Elevation: 10,875 feet above sea level
  • Number of States: 17
