Austin Mayor Steve Adler today announced Jason Stanford as his new communications director beginning today.
"I'm glad someone of Jason's talent and experience is joining our team to help us lead Austin toward a more mobile, more affordable future," said Mayor Adler.
Stanford, who moved to Austin to serve as deputy press secretary for Ann Richards’ 1994 campaign, is a longtime Austin-based national political consultant whose clients include governors, members of congress, mayors, labor unions, and Fortune 500 companies. In recent years, he has written a nationally syndicated column, contributed regular opeds to the Austin American-Statesman, and provided political analysis on Fox 7 as well as occasionally on MSNBC.
“Austin’s lucky to have a leader like Steve Adler as mayor, and I’m lucky to be helping him on his ambitious plans for Austin’s future,” said Stanford.
