We can use your help!
With the busy end of the year right around the corner, now is the time to consider your year-end donations that have those wonderful tax-deductible benefits.

As a 501c(3) non-profit, the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway fits into that category.

With your donations, we help bring educational improvements like wayside exhibits and interpretive statues to Route 66 communities throughout Illinois, offer grants to Illinois Route 66 attractions who are preserving the Mother Road, and put together helpful resources like our Visitor's Guide that help you plan your perfect trip.

But without your support, these programs can't continue. More than ever, we need you to make a donation to keep these programs alive and well. Whether your gift is large or small, it truly makes a difference.

Pledge securely online here:

Gift transactions must be completed by December 31 to be deductible in the current income tax year.

Thank you--and see you on the road!

Pontiac Breaking Ground for New Hotel
Pontiac’s newest hotel has taken the first big step towards its completion, which is expected in 2016.  A group of city officials, representatives from the Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce, the Pontiac Hotel Developers, LLC, Hotel Development Services of Oxford, Ohio, and the hotel’s new management team, Monchino Management LLC of Herrin, IL, conducted the ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday, December 2nd at the site of the new hotel near the Interstate 55 interchange.

The new hotel, a Hampton Inn, will offer 79 rooms for guests plus meeting spaces for small groups.  The project has been nearly two years in the preparatory stage and is ready to begin the 6 million dollar construction phase of the project.  Construction will be fully underway in the spring of 2016.

The Route 66: The Road Ahead Steering Committee has completed its review and analysis of feedback collected from the over 300 Rt. 66 stakeholders who took part in this past summer's series of Collaboration Workshops. Based on its discussions, the Steering Committee has produced the Collaboration Workshops Final Report which can be accessed here.
