This year Gabrielle Thurlow, soloist from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will be the Lead Flower. Gabrielle is a Buffalo native and an alumna of Neglia Conservatory of Ballet.
Walter Garcia is a freelance guest artist and a former member of Silicon Valley Ballet. He formerly danced with the National Ballet of Cuba in his native country as well as with Festival Ballet in Providence. Walter will perform the Russian Dance (Trepak) and as the Soldier Doll.
Ilya Burov is a native of Russia, former member of Moscow Classical Ballet and Festival Ballet Providence. Since 2007 Ilya has been part of faculty in many ballet schools and companies across the world. Ilya will perform the Spanish Dance and as The Nutcracker Prince.
Vincent O'Neill is reprising his role of Herr Drosselmeyer. He is currently a member of the faculty at the University at Buffalo’s Department of Theatre and Dance. A co-founder of the Irish Classical Theatre Company, he has been Artistic Director of the company since its inception in 1990.
Conservatory student Maggie Weatherdon will play the lead Marie. Look for Maggie to be featured in upcoming issues of Canadian publications Club West Magazine and Niagara This Week.

We are excited that several Pre-Professional students will be joining the corps.
City Honors High School senior Helena Reading will play Mirliton. Helena has trained with Neglia Conservatory for eleven years.
mirliton

So what is a "Mirliton" anyway? It seems to be both a tubular French pastry and a kazoo-like flute. Which is appropriate for the Danse des Mirlitons to nod to both a delightful confection and a musical instrument.
