Neglia Welcomes Summer Students from Around the World
With our five-week summer intensive beginning the last week of June, Neglia welcomes a diverse group of young dancers who have chosen to spend their summers training in Buffalo! The program includes several of "out-of-town" dancers from Canada, Rochester, the Southern Tier, Argentina and Paraguay in addition to many who are local to the Buffalo-Niagara area.

Our 22 Argentinian students are this year's summer recipients of the Jose Neglia Scholarship, awarded during Sergio Neglia's teaching tour in Argentina earlier this year. International students stay at Buffalo Seminary during their five weeks of training.
Conservatory Performance Photos
Photos from the 2016 end-of-year Conservatory Performance are now available to view online! Find candid captures and shots of your dancer in action on the M&M Photography galleries

Prints can also be ordered directly through the gallery site. Proceeds of print orders support Neglia Ballet. Photos will only be available to view and order for a limited time, so act early!

Thank you to Mary White and Mike Benz for once again beautifully capturing our students' performance.
"Boys Dance Too" workshop gives free classes to Buffalo youth
Thanks to an anonymous donor, Neglia's free summer boys workshop returned for its second year. This special program, taught by guest instructors Fidel Orrillo Puga and Carlos Molina (pictured right), is designed to give boys and young men a supportive and encouraging first education in ballet. All-male classrooms give boys the chance to try dance for the first time, or continue their training, without fear of gender-based ridicule.

This year's program included nine boys, several with no previous training in ballet. Boys met for class every weekday afternoon from June 27th  - July 8th. Dance classes, particularly ballet, help boys develop physical strength, agility, flexibility and discipline that will serve them well in all areas of life.

Neglia teaching daily ballet class to students in the Buffalo City Summer School of the Arts.

This summer, every student in Buffalo with an interest in dance has the opportunity to further their skills through the new Buffalo City Summer School for the Arts. Modeled after the successful New York State Summer School for the Arts, BCSSA offers programs in visual arts, musical theater, dramatic writing, and multi-media arts as well as dance. Students must apply and demonstrate a high level of interest and commitment to the art form to be selected for this free program. Starting July 5th, students in the dance program take daily classes in ballet (taught by Neglia Ballet) as well as modern dance, hip-hop and breaking, for four weeks.

Thank you to Michele Agosto and the Buffalo Public Schools art department for creating such a wonderful opportunity for youth in our community!
