Dear Berewick Families,

Happy October! You might have noticed a different look and color to our Berewick colors this year - I’d like to officially introduce you to our new Bobcat! This summer was Berewick’s turn to be rebranded, and our teachers voted on our new school color of teal. You’ll see teal, light blue, and navy replacing our former maroon and grey, although all Bobcats are welcome to rock our “classic” look whenever they like!

Join the PTO!

Some of you had a chance to meet our incredible PTO board at our Curriculum Night a few weeks ago. We couldn’t be more grateful for our enthusiastic new board members:

  • Danielle Phifer - President

  • Meaghan Bond - Vice President

  • Madia Broadway - Treasurer

  • Alexis Wilcox - Secretary

They are excited to welcome more parents into the PTO! There are a number of ways to support, and many ways to help that don’t require you to stand up in front of people or be present in school during normal school hours. The cost to join is $5, but we have had several generous families donate additional membership fees, so if you want to join but the cost is a challenge at this time, please do not let it hold you back! Fri. 10/28 - Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day!

Contributions to Raffle?

In December, we are going to hold a raffle. Tickets will be able to be purchased online, but all drawings will take place at our Winter Wonderland Family Event. We wanted to reach out to our community ahead of time to see if you have items or services that you would be willing to contribute to the raffle. If you make or sell items, or provide services that could be offered, this is a great chance to help our school while drawing attention to your business! In addition, if you have an item, gift card, or anything else that could be donated for this purpose, please let us know! Our PTO has a tax exempt ID that can be provided where relevant for donations made.

Safety Updates

Thank you to all parents who have followed our transportation updates this year! Thanks to your cooperation, we now have our car-rider line moving safely and smoothly in the morning and in the afternoon. We regularly complete our afternoon pick-up prior to 4 pm everyday.

Parking on Dixie River

We have received some guidance from the county and from law enforcement regarding the cars that park along Dixie River each morning and afternoon. This creates a safety hazard and violates the number of No Parking signs in that area. We have been cautioned that there will be increasing patrol of that area, and violators will receive tickets, so I wanted to pass this caution on to our parents so that you can help with ensuring the school area can be safe for our families and community members.

Lunch w/ Students

At this time, we are not opening up the school for adults to join students for lunch. This is due to two primary issues - space, and a desire to minimize additional people being added to the mix during a time when students must remove optional masks in order to eat. With Covid still regularly causing staff and students to miss a minimum of 5 consecutive days of school, in addition to the annual fall and winter rise of the flu and other illnesses, this will be our plan for the next few months. We will re-evaluate in the early spring and let you know if there is a change.

Register as a Volunteer

If you would like to help in the building, deliver anything to your child’s class (with teacher permission/scheduled appointment), chaperone a field trip, or be present in the building while students are there, you must first be approved as a volunteer. Register here.
