Welcome Our SSIG Executive Board!

Thank you to our Student Special Interest Group (SSIG) members for voting for the members of the Executive Board! We had some great candidates, and it is so exciting to see such motivated students interested in getting more involved in the WPTA. Help me welcome our Executive Board:

Chair: Rachel Jermann - UW-Milwaukee Class of 2017
Vice Chair: Lindsay Fons - UW-Milwaukee Class of 2018
Secretary: Ashley Alagna - Caroll University Class of 2017
Nominating Committee Chair: Casey Griebel - UW-Milwaukee Class of 2017

What to Expect Spring Semester
Looking to get more involved? We are currently looking for first year students to become Program Champions to help bridge the communication between the APTA Student Assembly Board of Directors and the WPTA, as well as to help keep fellow students informed about what is going on in our profession.

The SSIG Executive Board is really looking forward to getting things started and getting members involved. We are starting to brainstorm ideas right now, and we will be sure to keep you updated with upcoming opportunities, such as volunteer opportunities and the chance to be involved on committees created within the SSIG. Stay tuned!

Don't forget to sign up for the SSIG to become a member! Being a member is easy, with little requirements and you choose how involved you wish to be! It can only benefit you and help you be exposed to more opportunities!

What keeps us happy and healthy as we go through life? If you think it's fame and money, you're not alone – but, according to psychiatrist Robert Waldinger, you're mistaken. As the director of a 75-year-old study on adult development, Waldinger has unprecedented access to data on true happiness and satisfaction. In this talk, he shares three important lessons learned from the study as well as some practical, old-as-the-hills wisdom on how to build a fulfilling, long life.
