Powerfully kicking off Women's History Month

From the Director's Desk:  On March 1st, over 80 people joined Amplify via Zoom to witness the six latest Speaker Circle graduates share their talks. It was a powerful evening; every survey respondent said she left feeling inspired, connected, uplifted, and/or having more understanding and compassion.

While the topic of sexual assault or trafficking that tied these women together can be hard to listen to, those who do have the courage to listen are finding the messages uplifting. As one respondent said, "The world needs more messages of thriving, empowerment and breakthrough. Amplify Voices delivers on all levels."

It is an exciting time for Amplify as we gain evidence of the impact of our Speaker Circles and look to begin programming in the area of Restorative Justice at the end of this month. In the beautiful words of Amanda Gorman: "There is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it."

Thank you to our latest Circle of speaker graduates and those who came before them for your courage to be the light. Here is to touching more people with the ripples of empowerment, transformation and compassion.

Gratefully,
Amanda Schneider

Why do you volunteer with Amplify?
I had the honor of being one of 7 speakers in the Inaugural Amplify Voices. Now I volunteer with Amplify and my heart is content as I watch other women step into their power and courage. I volunteer for that reason, there is nothing like watching a heart flourish. Every woman I’ve seen move through the Speaker Circles comes to KNOW they are no longer alone... Read more

What excites you about the work Amplify is doing?
It is a ripple effect that allows others to know what it’s like to walk a mile in our shoes and how triumphant we each are.  And therein lies the message: Although many have never experienced life as some of us have, the messages are so powerful and impactful...one is given the opportunity to look within and ask themselves. “Where am I in my life? I have courage too...  Read more

Speaker's Corner

Vulnerability is attractive to audiences when done in the right way. When shared with the intention of connecting to your audience, vulnerability shows the audience you are human, just like them. Two questions to ask yourself: 1) Are you looking for sympathy? 2) Are you looking to make someone else wrong? If the answer is "no" to both questions, lean into vulnerability and share your message for the purpose of connecting with your audience.
