October 2020 Update
We had much to celebrate this past month. After six months of lockdown, we are happy to be meeting again for Bible studies. As religious meetings are still prohibited, we are keeping our gatherings small and in the homes of some of our believers. It is a blessing to meet with God’s people in person again.
Following many long months waiting through lockdown, Akash and Sapekshya were finally married! I had the honor of preaching at their ceremony. Due to restrictions because of the virus, Amber and the kids were not able to attend. The next week, we had the happy couple over along with Akash who we had not seen since lockdown began. We had a wonderful time of fellowship as we ate dinner, worshiped in song, and prayed together. It was bittersweet as we finally enjoyed all we have missed in the last several months.
Construction has continued on the building of Magadhi Baptist Church. Even without consistent offerings, God has graciously provided the funds needed to bring the project to completion. We are anxiously anticipating gathering to worship the Lord in this new space.
Please keep Nepal in your prayers as cases of the virus continue to rise. It seems that the harsh reality this developing country has faced as a result of half a year of lockdown has caused the government to ease restrictions despite rising numbers. We trust that in the same way God has made a way for resumed Bible studies, a new marriage, and a completed building project, He will make a way for Nepali churches to assemble again. soon.
