March 2020 Update
Thank you for praying for our event last month at Camp Refuge. The Ray of Hope conference was a big success! We had over 80 people from 5 different churches gathered together to celebrate the hope we have in Christ even on a pagan holiday. There were several unbelievers in attendance who were able to hear the Gospel throughout the day. We look forward to many events like this one in the future ministry of Camp Refuge.
We had another event planned at Camp Refuge in the month of March. We were anticipating hosting an outreach event for Maghadi people in Kathmandu. However, due to Covid-19 and the social-distancing mandates put into place, we had no choice but to cancel this event. We trust that the Lord will allow us to reschedule when the virus is contained. God has given us a vision to see Maghadi people saved, and we pray that the Camp can play a vital role in seeing that dream come true.
Nepal has intituted a nation-wide lock-down in an attempt to contain the spread of the Corona Virus. Residents of Nepal are now forbidden to leave their homes for any non-emergency reason. For our family, this means the kids are not able to go to school, and we are spending our days at home. For our ministry, this means that our church is not allowed to meet as normal. We pray that we would be found faithful during this time, and that the Lord would continue to work in the lives of the special people in our minstry even as we are unable to gather.
Just like many of you, we do not know how long our lives will be “on pause” in this way. We ask that you would pray for wisdom and safety for our family. More than anything, we want to be used by God as a light for Him during this trying time in Nepal. Please pray for ministry opportunities to open up in the days ahead.
