A Personal Experience
            During the recent epidemic, unable to get to the library, I had to resort to unread books on my own shelf which included the four-volume set, Abraham Lincoln: The War Years by Carl Sandburg (1939), left to me years ago by my mother. Within the first pages I became inevitably drawn to the institution of slavery, the major political issue of that day, and began to consider it in relation to the ongoing riots of this summer.  Read more...

Andrés nace en Paris, Francia en 1934. La Segunda Guerra Mundial cambia su destino y el de su familia, ya que en 1940 se ven obligados a huir  de los nazis, y eligen emigrar a México.

André was born in Paris, France in 1934. The Second World War changed his destiny and that of his family, when in 1940 they were forced to flee from the Nazis, choosing to immigrate to Mexico.



Happy 99th Birthday to Judith Saly!

Longtime Pathworker Judith Saly celebrated her 99th birthday on August 21st.  When asked how it feels to be 99, she replied, “Very strange.  It feels like something unreal. I can’t believe it.”

Judith Maria Garai was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1921 into an assimilated Jewish family.
