Envision a full loop along the outer edge of Green Lake to create more space for people to safely walk, run, and bike around Green Lake and connect our neighborhoods.
Thank you for attending our Online Open House!
Thank you to all who attended our second Online Open House Tuesday, February 22. To date, over 300 people have participated in our online open house and neighborhood community meetings. We appreciate your ongoing engagement, questions, and feedback. You can view the slide deck presentation here.

We are happy to share the November 2021 survey summary. Thank you to all 4,345 respondents who participated. The survey summary is available here, and all detailed responses are available here.
Project Updates
Using the community feedback received, we can now move forward with the preferred project designs on both project segments.
Segment 1: Aurora Ave N
Create a new path between N 63rd St and W Green Lake Dr N along the on-ramp and Aurora Ave N. Vehicle access maintained along the on-ramp.
Segment 2: W Green Lake Dr N Option 2
Maintain street parking, but remove the northbound vehicle travel lane, and add a two-way walking and biking path on the lake side of the street.
W Green Lake Dr N (looking north)
Continue shared path from Aurora Ave N
Funding
We have identified construction and design funding for this project through our Vision Zero Program, which prioritized the project due to its safety benefits and potential to address recent collisions in this area. We are still in the process of determining the final construction cost. Additional traffic analysis and final design are in the works and will be shared with the community when complete.
Project background
Green Lake is one of Seattle's most beloved regional parks. Its expanse of water and green space in the center of a dense urban neighborhood draws thousands of people daily from all over the region.

Based on community feedback, Vision Zero safety goals, and desire to provide more low-carbon travel options, we're building off two recently completed projects, the Green Lake and Wallingford Multimodal Paving Project and the new path on W Green Lake Way N to create an outer loop for people to walk, roll, and bike safely around the lake and connect our neighborhoods.
