|With the clocks changing and the days getting shorter, this is a key time to remember your Vitamin D supplements.
Vitamin D, known as the sunshine vitamin with the sun being the primary source of vitamin D, is fast being known as a super nutrient
, important for normal function of the immune system, maintenance of normal muscle function, maintenance of normal bones, and normal utilisation of calcium and phosphorous. Many people don't realise that very few foods naturally containing vitamin D - even the richest sources such as wild salmon - would require an adult to eat 2 to 4 portions a day
to maintain daily D requirements.
Since it is difficult to achieve recommended intake from natural food sources alone, the government recommends taking Vitamin D as a supplement from October through to March. We have lots of easy, highly absorbable oral options to take vitamin D
from peppermint flavour spray and drops through to capsules and tablets, and a range of levels from those that just need a winter top up to those with diagnosed deficiency.
With this in mind we have specially crafted our Winter Wellness bundles, alongside our Winter Health check-ins to help support you and your family over these coming months.
