Dear Friends, Supporters and New Subscribers,
Happy New Year to everyone (belatedly so). This year is one of new ideas and continued projects. I spent the Holidays in London and the first part of January at a residency in the Crich Studio at Banff Center for Creativity in Canada working on the Polaroid Roadside Nostalgia series for which 100's new images were shot in New Mexico in 2017. At Banff I also worked on 30 more wet collodion photograms and ideas for a new public art project. I am looking for another artist residency for late July (send ideas or invitations please!).
2017 brought many exhibitions, conferences and travel for which I am ever grateful - meeting new artists and old friends at this time in my life is the most enjoyable thing of all. Some highlights were a one hour Yale University Radio Interview (with Brainard Carey); group exhibitions at Foley Gallery, NYC, Perspective Gallery, Chicago, Smack Mellon, Brooklyn and the famous Bemis Center for Art auction, as well as a group exhibition at Lawndale Art Center in Houston, TX and a nomination for the USA Artists Fellow Award.
See you at fotofest Houston or CAA in Los Angeles!?
Wishing everyone a superb 2018 - stay positive and let us hope that those checks and balances in the US government work!
