Technical Orientation at JAARS,
Waxhaw, NC Part 2
Time is flying by faster then we had anticipated. We are now down to one month left in Orientation and are frantically trying to get everything in order. Starting with an 8 to 5 full training schedule (sometimes longer) and home school, add visa medicals, shots, flight physicals, eye exams, dental appointments, preparation for the kids' school standardization testing, application to West Nairobi School, packing, shipping arrangements... and amidst the details remembering that God has a plan and perfect timing in all of this. We are continually reminded that this is not our agenda but His. If we will continue to keep our eyes on Him all the little details will fall in perfect place.
On that note, it looks like most our household furnishing and appliances have been arranged in Nairobi. We will be moving into a home that is currently occupied by a family that is changing assignments. It is a huge blessing to us that we will not have to shop and find all our household items (huge sigh of relief) and a blessing to them that they will not have to move/sell everything piece by piece. This fell perfectly into our allotted outgoing setup budget AIM had set aside for this. God's perfect care of His servants. We're close, and for that we praise God for His faithfulness in providing for our needs. We thank you for standing with us, praying with us, going to Africa with us.
Joel's training as of late has really reminded us what we're doing here. The short field airstrips and technically challenging flights are sharpening his skills. For what? Then we hear the stories and picture the faces of the villagers that once were so isolated, no one could get to them because the terrain and conditions had shut them out from the world. From hearing about Jesus. We're doing our part to change that. So after long, frustrating flights where excellence is drilled over and over again, we remember why we're here. Why you're reading this. To all play our part in the Master's Plan. God continues to urge us forward, to stay the course. Thank you for praying for us and keeping us on course. We're seeing warfare building and we're still on American soil. Please keep us in your prayers.
We are headed into the final stages of flight and maintenance training here with the last 10 days spent in the back hills of North Carolina. Here is a link to a video of some of the flying we will be doing and why. Unfortunately the video is hosted on Youtube and there can at times be unrelated and inappropriate video captions to the right. Its easy to avoid by expanding the video screen to full size once the video is started (click small segmented square in lower right corner of video screen for full size). Mountain Week Video
Vehicle Project Update! Thank you to those who have continued to financially bring us closer to our Outgoing requirement. A remaining portion of our Outgoing need is the vehicle fund for service in Kenya. A reliable vehicle will be important for our travel safety and enhance our ability to minister well. We would like to be 100% by June 22nd (end of Orientation) so we can concentrate on what is ahead of us knowing that the finances are taken care of. Please join us in prayer for that. We realize like everything else this is in God's perfect timing. We are short $7,800 on this project fund. If you would like to donate to our Vehicle Project here is a direct link to the On-line Support Page. Joel and LaReina Vehicle Project
Please continue to pray for the formation of our prayer and financial teams. If God has laid on your heart to be a part of what He is doing in Africa through us, please respond to this email with your interest. Or simply visit Kingsinafrica
