Welcome to our newsletter with all the latest news from
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation.

Hey, you, get onto my cloud (thank you, Rolling Stones)

With our new Head of Technology Management Mike Heath developing the IT strategy, the International Award Foundation (IAF) is about to undergo some exciting changes. As well as implementing best practices for service and support to benefit you as Award staff, volunteers and operators, we’ll also be moving our data into a highly secure internet solution, ‘the cloud’. This will improve the way we interact with our operators and donors. We’re also moving the Foundation’s infrastructure into the cloud, giving our regional offices a more reliable and faster way of accessing files and email. All in all, the future’s cloudy, but bright! Read on for further details of digital developments.
International Online Record Book
This month sees the first major release of the International Online Record Book (ORB) since its launch in February. Significant improvements have been made to the system, which is currently being used in New Zealand, Canada, The Netherlands and Australia. Bermuda will be the final pilot country to launch in September. For more information please see our page on the International Online Record Book.
Website templates for Award operators
In partnership with their website agency, the Award in the Czech Republic are offering Award operators website templates that can be customised for individual countries. Working with the agency, operators will be able to adapt the language and content of the template to suit their requirements. Please contact Ondrej Lochman for more information.
Dreaming of a better world
It's 50 years since Martin Luther King's famous and powerful 'I have a dream' speech. What social change can you commit to? The United Nations and partners want to hear from you! MY World is a global survey asking you to choose your priorities for a better world. Results will be shared with world leaders in setting the next global development agenda. Tell the UN about the world you want, because your voice matters.

Kwek Leng JooLeading by example
We warmly welcome Kwek Leng Joo from Singapore as the newest addition to our dedicated Board of Trustees. Thanks must go to Olawale Edun for attending and inputting so valuably into our Africa regional conference and to Paul Bell who gave his time to visit Award projects while on a recent trip to Kenya. We also thank Dr Trevor Carmichael, former Trustee, for his involvement in the Americas regional conference.
