H Res 47: Supporting Women's Reproductive Health Care Decisions
This bill is currently being reviewed by a Congressional committee before it can go onto the House floor. It is sponsored by Colorado Democratic representative Diana DeGette and was introduced to the Committee on January 22, 2015. It seeks to improve access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare for women, such as providing affordable contraceptives, preventative health education, safe legal abortion services rights, insurance coverage, and a private, unbiased environment in which women can make their own healthcare decisions. This includes protection from employers and government from interfering with these reproductive health services. The bill is only in the first step in the legislative process.
