Lauren is our newly promoted co-president for the Pre-Medical Division. She currently is a junior at the University of Florida, majoring in Biomedical Sciences. She hopes to become a physician while continuing to provide a voice for children and women in medicine. Lauren joined AMWA in her senior year of high school, as Dr. Haffizulla (past AMWA president) was her mentor. "Mentorship drew me to AMWA, but the lifelong bonds I have formed with fellow AMWA members all across the country has solidified my involvement." In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
When asked for advice she would give to younger women, she replied "Get involved and start connecting with others! It's never too early to get involved with AMWA, and you will meet so many amazing people."
If she were to meet any iconic woman in history, it would be: "Elizabeth Blackwell because she was the first woman to receive a medical degree in America, paving the way for future female physicians."
Lauren is a vital part of our team and we are so happy to have her!
