Let's get cozy!

This month, our very own Chief Moment Maker Chris treated his boyfriend Kevin to a romantic picnic in the park. The setting was idyllic, right in front of a lovely fountain on a perfect sunny day.

The Food

Chris opted for this simple but delicious menu:
  • Baguette
  • Cheeses
  • Grapes
  • Strawberries
  • A bottle of wine

The Activities

You don't need many props or diversions for a romantic picnic, since it tends to involve a lot of canoodling. But Chris did bring his guitar so he could serenade Kevin. Otherwise, they mostly talked and joked and toasted each other.

Keeping Your Wine Cool

  • Start with a chilled bottle. A couple of hours in the fridge, or 15 minutes in the freezer will do the trick.
  • If you don't have a cooler, invest in an insulated wine sleeve
  • Use wine drops, whiskey stones, or even frozen grapes to keep wine cool in the glass
  • Be sure to hold your glass by the stem, to avoid transferring body heat

Did you know?

The word picnic comes from the French pique-nique which originally meant something more akin to what we call a potluck. The meaning we like best—dining outdoors for pleasure—came later.
