Dear Pomona Hope supporters,

I hope that you are doing well in this challenging season. I am writing to inform you that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Pomona Hope has unfortunately needed to close its programming for the foreseeable future. Although this is the most challenging situation we have faced as an organization, we continue to press forward in hope and trust in God's provision.

While we are not currently able to run our normal programming, we are committed to continuing to be a support for our students and families. We are providing students with educational resources to further their learning, as well as online volunteer tutoring matches for assistance with their homework remotely. We are communicating as promptly as possible any resources available in the community as we are made aware of them. In addition, we are checking in with parents at least once a week to see what their current needs are, so that we can be an encouragement and potentially connect them with resources.

I realize that for some of our supporters, your financial situation may be affected by this emergency. We have had some donors that have needed to decrease their support, at least for the time being. We completely understand this difficult decision, and we are grateful for everyone who has supported our work over the years, whether financially or with your time and talents. If you have the capacity to continue to support our work, we would greatly appreciate it if you continued to do so. Your assistance will help us continue to be an encouragement to our students and families during this challenging season, and to be prepared to hit the ground running once we can resume our normal operations.

While our work has greatly shifted in scope, we are still committed to being a light and a support to our families and our community. We look forward to the day that we can once again safely open our doors to our students, and in the meantime, we are doing what we can to be there for them.

My prayer is that each of you and your loved ones is safe and healthy, and that we will soon be able to move past this crisis together in hope.

All my best,
Jeff Johannsen
Executive Director
