Art in Hawaiʻi - our fringey home!

Fringe 2017 Year 5

Circus Minimus at Fringe
Yes, in January 2017, we said our final goodbye at the final Fringe show, Circus Minimus. Thank you again to everyone who helped to put on this creative platform. Your help truly made a difference!

In our five fringey seasons we've connected our community with local and visiting artists. We've hosted 73 productions and with an average of 368 adventurous audience members joining us on this fantastic fringey journey each year. Yes, it has been an amazing adventure. To top off this sweet 5 year run, we created the very first Hawaii Fringe Festival Circuit this year with O'ahu Fringe and Maui Fringe. Two artists that participated in this circuit were Malcolm Grissom from San Francisco with his show Me, My Songs and I and Basil Considine and The Really Spicy Opera from Minnesota with their show, Game of Thrones: The Musical.

Fringe in Hawai'i is still in its nascent stage, but it is growing and welcoming to all. Thank you everyone for your very generous support.

As an all volunteer organized Fringe, our mission is to promote the development of original work in the performing arts in theatre, music, dance and all performance related art by emerging and professional artists, and to present a provocative multicultural arts festival unique to Hawai’i.  We do this for the love of the arts and to contribute to the artistic landscape and to making Hawai’i a Fringe Festival destination.  So go on, be original in Hawai’i.  Fringe is fiscally sponsored by Hawaii Arts Alliance - to make a donation to support our mission, please click here.  Thank you.
