Life Sciences: RVA Environmental Film Fest is next month
The Fifth Annual RVA Environmental Film Festival is scheduled to be held the first week of February. The Enrichmond Foundation, Falls of the James Group – Sierra Club, Capital Region Land Conservancy, and EarthCraft Virginia have collaborated on this year’s festival, choosing many films designed to raise awareness of environmental issues. Medicine: Family celebrates a 101st birthday with gift
Clelia Johnson turned 101 in September. She remembers clearly coming to work at the Medical College of Virginia soon after high school. She had “the audacity,” she said, to ask the president of the college at the time, William Sanger, Ph.D., to speak at her medical secretary graduation. That contact led to her first job and then to a more than 60-year career working in medical pathology. Read more.
