NEW suPAR Abstracts

"The intriguing role of soluble urokinase receptor in inflammatory diseases"

by S Desmedt et al., Review article, Critical Reviews in Clinical Laboratory Sciences
, January 2017.
Conclusion:
"suPAR is a novel inflammatory biomarker with high potential. It is a very stable molecule.

The elevated circulating concentration of suPAR is associated with the presence of several inflammatory diseases, the development of fibrosis and with an increased risk of mortality.
The reported findings could have important therapeutic consequences...."

"Soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor in one-year prediction of major adverse cardiac events in patients after first myocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention"

by Rafał N. Wlazeł et al. in Archives of Medical Science, August 2016.

Conclusion:
"Soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor level appears to be an independent useful biomarker for the prediction of major adverse cardiac events early after first myocardial infarction.

The suPAR level assessed at discharge may be a useful independent predictor for cardiovascular events (better than other biomarkers, such as CRP) in patients with the first AMI."
