From Our Principal
Dear IVA Families!

I cannot wait to celebrate our unique middle school at the Friends and Fund Raiser Gala this Saturday. We have the best students! And we have come such a long way since we began this journey. Thank you for being a part of this amazing community.

To live and learn well,
We asked and you responded!! Most families would prefer to have one fundraiser where you can donate a monetary amount to reach our fundraising goals. Our PTA goal for this year is $7,400.00 which will go toward supporting field trips for the kids, events like the Fall and Winter dance, classroom enhancements, benches for the lunch areas, a raised bed garden for our green team, lockers, and much, much more. All this simply for reading great books as a family.

If each family pledges $200 we can reach our goal of $7,400. How to donate? Login online or send a check directly to the IVA office made out to the IVA PTA. Then our other events can focus on bringing us together as a community, with no wrapping paper or cookie dough to sell ☺
  • Optional Practice: Thursday (1:00-2:00pm) this week!
  • Next Meet: MONDAY, October 26 (note that it is not a Tuesday this time!) at Kenneth Hahn Park (same location as the first meet). Parents will meet at IVA at 2:30pm to leave by 2:45pm and be returning to IVA around 7pm.
  • Meet Registration: If you have not registered for the meet, the deadline to do so is this Friday (October 23). Registration can be completed online and is $10.

Now for the exciting piece of information! Results from the last meet are in and here is how our Foxes did:

Division 2 Boys (6th graders): 4th place
Division 2 Girls (6th graders): 3rd place (IVA received the same amount of points as second place, but because second place's 6th runner placed higher than IVA's, they got the second place title. See scoring information below.)
Division 1 Boys (7/8th graders): 3rd place
Division 1 Girls (7/8th graders): 2nd place
What great performances by our IVA Foxes!!

A reminder that optional basketball practices are Tuesday after school from 3:30pm-5:00pm here at IVA! We are trying to get a head start on the season and all are welcome to attend. Practices will be held weekly on Tuesdays after school for the next couple of weeks. Do not worry if you cannot attend a practice; it does not mean that you will not be allowed to try out for the team.
