Getting Involved at IVA

Parents! We have our second Parent Reading Group tonight at IVA (7:00pm), right after our quarterly PTA meeting at 6:30pm. **If you have little ones and need a sitter, send your kiddos to our friend Lizzy who is coming to hang out in Ms. Noble's room during the meeting. She accepts tips** We want to make it possible for you to come and join us as we talk about how to practically encourage deep personal qualities of thinking and learning in our kids. It's not just about assignments in school or grades on the report cards. We want our kids to become thoughtful, wise people with the ability to learn and live well. The habits they develop today will stick with them for the rest of their lives. Join the conversation with parents interested in the same goals.

Students! Our first dance is next Friday, January 24th. This is a dance - dance! The PTA has organized an event chock-full of breakdancing, Wii Just Dance, photo booths and good, clean IVA fun. Just $5 will purchase a ticket. Parents, learn more on our Shutterfly Account. 18 families have already signed up to bring potluck items online! Our sweet IVA kids know how to have fun and we are excited to provide them with this venue to celebrate together.

To learn and live well,

Jacquie Bryant, Principal

Thank you for participating in our Read-a-thon! We're excited to see how much closer we are to our goal.
Thanks to the efforts of Josh Brobst and Cosmo Hebert -- and sponsor Natalie Brobst (Josh's mom) our student Safety Patrol started this week. Our kids are decked out with donations that Natalie got for the students - hats, badges and walkie talkies. Pictured above, Paul signs up for the very first shift.

Starting Monday
New Pick Up Location

We are changing locations and after school supervision to the 36th street gate beginning on Monday, January 20th. In order to streamline pick up and keep our kids supervised in a contained area, we will be exiting the school from the blacktop. We will provide supervision until 3:30pm. Next week, please park along the 36th street church parking area rather than the Petroleum Club parking on Fridays to join our virtue closing ceremony. The ceremony closes out our week by acknowledging and celebrating intellectual growth in each other. Famlies are always welcome!
A huge thank you to everyone for spreading holiday cheer in December, including Secret Santa gifts from the Student Council, the huge gift to the staff for mailboxes, a night out for our IVA families and the dozens of gifts and cards that warmed our December! Thanks!
