We are very glad to send you our second newsletter at a special moment: in March, Europeana Fashion will celebrate its first birthday!

So much has happened in this first project year and even more exciting things are coming. So let's celebrate our successes together, and let's also take a look at what is going to happen in the coming months.

Europeana Fashion International Conference on 17-18 of April in Florence
The conference theme will be "Fashion industry and the GLAM community", and it will also host a workshop about "Handling New Media in Fashion".

Among the speakers are: Valerie Steele (Director of Museum at FIT, New York), Stefan Siegel (founder of NJAL, London) and Kaat Debo (Director MoMu, Antwerp). Attendance is free.

Europeana Fashion on Tumblr
Europeana Fashion has set up, in collaboration with Europeana, its own Tumblr blog showcasing the best fashion content coming from its partners and from the Europeana portal.

Each month the blog will feature a different theme curated by our project partners. We kicked off in February with a shoe exhibition!

Europeana Fashion/Awareness Edit-a-Thon on 22 March in Stockholm
On 22 March, Europeana Fashion, Europeana Awareness and Wikimedia Sweden will co-organise a fashion edit-a-thon together with partners Nordiska Museet and the Centre of Fashion Studies at the University of Stockholm. It is the first in a series of fashion edit-a-thons organised by Europeana Fashion

During the edit-a-thon participants will come together at the Nordiska Museet to edit and contribute new information to Wikipedia using the digital collections shared by our partners. The goal of this edit-a-thon is to improve and increase the presence of fashion-related information on Wikipedia.
