There’s only one week left before we host the Global Leadership Summit 2019 at GBC. The summit is held each August in Chicago and then in the subsequent months the material is broadcast in over forty countries and dozens of languages.

For the second year we are a one of twenty-five host sites across Australia and I am excited about the opportunity we have to host this world-class event. Having attended the last two years I am committed to the GLS as a primary way to develop my own leadership. And the longer I am in leadership the more important developing my own leadership is becoming. Let me encourage you to consider participating in this year’s GLS, because as they are fond of saying, “Everyone wins when a leaders gets better.” Whether you are involved in leadership in the church, in your school, in your business, or your local soccer club you will benefit from the GLS.

Don’t forget, as part of a host site, you have access to a special $99 rate (a savings of $50). It’s not too late to register for this year’s event. You can register here [LINK]. The dates are Friday night the 11th of October and all-day Saturday October 12. I’d really like to see you there as we together seek to develop our leadership in all the places God invites us to lead.

Announcements and Upcoming Events

Global Leadership Summit

We will be hosting the GLS on the evening of Friday October 11 and all-day Saturday October 12. The cost to those who are part of GBC is $99 ($40 for Students) and this is money well spent. You’ll start hearing more about this soon, but can I encourage you to make this a priority. This year’s list of speakers includes Craig Groeschel, Bear Grylls, Jo Saxton, Liz Bohannon, Patrick Lencioni, and others. It is a brilliant shot in the arm for your leadership and is not confined to leading in church. The principles shared are applicable wherever you lead whether that is a business, school, or other organisation. You can find more information about the GLS Below.

Pathways - Register Now

Pathways is a four-week course which will be held at 10:30am (one hour) over four consecutive Sundays (20 October - 10 November) to help those who are new to GBC find their place in God's mission here.

Pathways explores: Who we are; Where we believe God is leading us; What we are doing to get there; and How you can get involved. It's a space for you to ask questions, meet others who are new to our community of faith, and begin to form some lasting friendships. Pathways will take place during our 10:30am Service so if you're coming in the morning with young children, they'll have the opportunity to enjoy our Kidzone program while you attend.

To register for the next Pathways four-week course (20/10, 27/10, 3/11, 10/11) go to GBC Links or email Karen Watkins.

We’ll be holding a special dedication service at 10:30am on Sunday 20th October. If you’re keen to intentionally commit to raising your child to make their own decision to follow Jesus later in life, we’d love to celebrate that occasion with you. For more information and to register your interest in being involved in this service, please contact our Associate Pastor for Connect and Services,

Invitation to Pray - GBC Cares

We’d like to invite anyone who is interested to join us in praying for our church this Sunday around 10am (in-between the 2 morning services). Some of the GBC Cares team have started this initiative and we’d like to extend it to anyone else who is keen to pray too. We will meet in the main downstairs office on the blue lounges. We will continue to meet at the same time on the first Sunday of each month and hopefully we will outgrow the office space.
Hope you see you there!
