MESSAGE FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR

The ‘back-to-school’ ads are proliferating which means we must be getting close to returning to ’normal'. Not only are kids (and parents) getting restless, but more and more people are returning to work as things get back up to speed. In just a few weeks we’ll be right back at it too with our programs getting off the ground again.
As we head into 2020 – and before things get too busy – I’d like to encourage you to consider where God might be inviting you to participate in the life and ministry of GBC this year. That might be to join a Life Group, to volunteer in one of our ministries (and there are plenty of opportunities – find an area you’d like to be involved in and approach someone on the team to find out more), and to invest financially towards our vision to see lives changed by Jesus.

Your involvement at GBC is only one small area where God invites us to join him, but it’s an important one. As a community of faith, we facilitate Life Groups as a place for people to nurture their faith in Jesus, involvement in ministry is good for our ministries (which all run on volunteers involvement) and for our faith as we serve those around us, and financial commitment increases our engagement in what God is doing and enables us to say Yes to opportunities God has for us.

As you consider your involvement here this year let me encourage those of you who are financially committed here to prayerfully consider again what God might be inviting you to give and, if you are not already doing so, to shift your giving to electronic (and if you have to check that it hasn’t lapsed).
Whatever you do – and I’d encourage you to do something – do it before things get crazy and life returns to normal. As we participate with what God is doing we grow in our faith and, when it gets right down to it, that’s really important.

NOTE: GBC Links has lots of information on all of these areas too. Make sure you log in and have a look around.
