The pandemic continues to nip at our heels as a nation with a return to restrictions in Victoria reminding us just how fragile our return to normal really is. Or perhaps it is laying bare just how little control we really have. Either way, the uncertainty and the weariness of ongoing restrictions, even though they have eased significantly, creates fertile field for anxiety to flourish and for actions borne of fear to grow.
As followers of Jesus we are well-placed to thrive in a COVID-19 world, but this will take faith and encouragement. We need to lean into our belief that Jesus stands over all our uncertainty and that we can trust him. We need to lean into the community of faith and encourage one another and reach out to be encouraged to continue to live at peace. Let us acknowledge where our anxiety threatens to get the best of us and where we end up acting with less regard for those around us because it’s all too hard. Let us pray with and for each other and continue to persevere.

As the walls of certainty that surround Australian culture are eroded by the length of our struggle with COVID-19, there will be an opening for the good news. Let us live differently now so that people will turn to us then and ask about the reason for our hope. God is at work in these strange times.

I pray that we will be ready for his invitation when it arises (as I know it has already for many of you).

If you'd like to be included in this email list please send Roxane an email. We love to see the amazing craft activities the kids are creating during KidzHome / GBC Online - email Roxane photos of your kids' artworks so we can showcase their talent to the rest of our GBC Community.
