MESSAGE FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR

We are just less than three weeks shy of Christmas and, like school and other activities, our ministry year is winding down too. As we get to the end of the year I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you who have taken up the invitation of God to participate in his plans through volunteering at GBC in 2019.
Whether you have served at a single event such as Winterfest, the Fair Trade Market, or Carols (and we’re still looking for a few people to be involved at this year’s carols), in one of our weekly programs such as Kidzone, Youth, Life Groups, Worship, Stewarding, Welcoming, or Coffee, or as a member of our of our groups such as the Mission Action Group – thank you! We really could not do what we do without your willingness to be involved.

Personally, I have been very thankful for the work that the Church Leadership Team and Elders have done this year. Their expertise, commitment to GBC and to me has been incredibly meaningful and significant. The CLT is made up of Rich Scott (Chair), Ralph Graham (Secretary), John Lunney (Treasurer), Cassi Bourke, Erin Forster, Bruce Mullins, Lincoln Grice, and Neil Evans.

Special thanks to John Lunney and Bruce Mullins who have completed six years of service and are stepping off the team. The elders are Rhonda Montgomery, Ron Clarke, Sonia Beresford, Ian Giles, Esther Prattern, Leanne Carter, and Derek Mullins. I have been super-appreciative of their pastoral concern for GBC and the work they’ve undertaken on behalf of the church as a whole.

As we head into the end of the year be asking the Lord where he might be inviting you to get involved in 2020. There are few things more fulfilling than participating with God in his work in the lives of others!

Marc Rader

Carols Volunteers - We Need You!
Sign up to volunteer at Carols in the Park this Sunday at the Tall Table.
We need to fill positions on the following teams:
  • Kids Activities (face-painting, jumping castle supervision, etc)
  • Guest Services (welcoming); BBQ; Parking (supervising car park entry)
  • Logistics (Sunday AM for set up).
Volunteering is a great way to meet other GBC people and join in with what God is doing in our community.
Update: Carols Flyers
Thanks to your overwhelming support last Sunday all the Carols flyers were collected for delivery to your local area. (Reminder: Don’t deliver to “No Junk Mail” letter boxes).

Any leftover flyers, please return to GBC or, if possible, keep on delivering.

Let’s invite our community to Carols in the Park.
GIA Stamps
As we begin to move into the Holiday Season and people will be recieving Christmas Cards. We would like to remind everyone that the GIA Stamp Box is available for trimmed stamps to be donated. The GIA Stamp Box is located just outside the Auditorium near the main church entrance.

Please note that when cutting out stamps to put in the collection box, a slight border around the stamp needs to be left.
