Focus on our Guided Walking Holidays:

We have now put our 2013 dates for our fixed date French Guided Walking Holidays onto our website.

On these holidays we cater for Small Groups consisting of 4 to 8 or 10 people depending on the holiday. This ensures better cohesion between the members of the group and allows for greater personal service and more informative guiding. The groups are usually made up of a mix of couples and singles.
The small group size allows us to use carefully selected Guest Houses which are often traditional historic properties in beautiful surroundings. There, you will find a truly personal and friendly service with authentic local food and drink. Your hosts literally welcome you into their lives and their homes.
The Guided Walking Holidays also offer flexible itineraries so that we can adapt to local conditions as well as the groups abilities and interests.

As well as our fixed date guided holidays, we also organise Tailor-Made Walking and Trekking Holidays for existing groups, whether that's for an official club or just a group of friends. We can modify our existing selection of guided walking holidays to meet your groups requirements.

Taking Photographs in the Baronnies

Walk and Eat Avignon Competition: You still have until the end of October to win a copy of Walk and Eat Avignon, the pocket sized guidebook for walkers who love food, containing walks in Avignon, Nimes, Arles and St Remy. To celebrate 5 years since High Point Holidays was established, next month we will be launching our inaugral Photographic Competition. We are looking for our customers past and present to send in their favourite photos from their High Point Holiday. This can be from any year and any type of holiday (guided, independent, France, UK, cycling, event break, tailor-made etc.) We want photos that sum up your holiday or an aspect of the holiday that was special to you. There will be prizes for the top 3 pictures. Details will be announced soon on Facebook and then by Newsletter.
Beaujolais Nouveau

Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!

Well not quite....the Beaujolais Nouveau is only released at the stroke of midnight on the 3rd Thursday every November, just weeks after the wine's grapes have been harvested. Known as "Beaujolais Nouveau Day", parties are held to celebrate the first wine of the season. There are over 120 related festivals held every year in the Beaujolais region alone. The most famous is Les Sarmentelles, held in the town of Beaujeu, the historic capital of the Beaujolais region. Since 1988 Beaujeu has held Les Sarmentelles and since 2002 it has become a 5 day festival covered by the national and international media and television. 2012 marks the 24th year of celebrations in Beaujeu.
High Point Holidays offers short breaks for the celebrations and also Guided and Independent Beaujolais Vintage Wine Trails as well as other Beaujolais walking holidays and Beaujolais Cycling Holidays where the local wines can be sampled.
