Shock and Awe Inspiring Landscapes

Here's a taste of a few surprises in store on some of our walking holidays
Panoramic Vercors
6 or 8 nights - From £810/€890 - 5 or 7 days self guided walking between guest houses
The walking trail traverses the Vercors, following the summits of the Grand Veymont in the most scenic part of the Vercors. There are amazing panoramic views including that of Mont Aiguille, an awesome rock tower cast off from the main cliffs.
"We absolutely loved our holiday. The balcony (trail) was awesome because of the views, the challenge and the variety. The Grand Veymont was literally awesome." A & S Edwards, USA
Cantal Mountains: Rugged Heart of France
7 nights - £680/€750 - 6 days of circuits from central base

The whole area is one gigantic ancient volcano. It's formation took place between 13 million and two million years ago. The collision between Italy and the continent, which continues to build the Alps created a shock further afield in the bedrock and mantel.
"A really awesome area for hiking." R Truesdale, USA
Tranquil Auvergne Trail
7 nights - From £720/€790 - 6 days walking between guest houses
This walking holiday starts and finishes in Puy en Velay, the remarkable world heritage town, known for its volcanic spires impossibly topped by religious monuments. Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe chapel is on a volcanic formation 85m high and is reached via 268 steps carved into the rock.
"I found the walk thoroughly enjoyable, even inspiring. The variety of lodging was a particular pleasure as well as the individual places themselves. And I could go on about the landscape etc interminably." G. Barron, UK
West Mendip Explorer: Somerset Heights to Somerset Levels
7 nights - £575 - 6 days walking between guest houses

The Mendip Hills are punctuated by dramatic gorges and caves. Cheddar is England’s largest gorge, and with its weathered crags and pinnacles, one of the country’s most spectacular natural sites. Greater and Lesser horseshoe bats roost in Cheddar Gorge. At dusk they shoot in and out of the caves. And at Wookey Hole Caves they have their own witch.
